Our menu is exclusively Ethiopian and consists of a selection of delicious dishes with their origin in the highlands of the country. We source our ingredients from trusted suppliers in order to ensure freshness and quality. We purchase our meat products from high quality supermarkets. Our berbere (spiced ground pepper) is prepared in Ethiopia by members of our family before it is sent to us in Ghana. We take these steps in order to ensure that our meals are authentic, full of flavour and healthy. We guarantee that no artificial additive is used in our cooking. Our dishes are gluten free.
This is the classic Ethiopian dish. It is made with chicken and is usually served with a hard-boiled egg. It is cooked slowly in order to infuse the chicken with the taste and flavour of Ethiopian ground pepper (berbere), spices, onions and clarified butter.
Cubed and tender lamb is slow cooked with onions, ground pepper (berbere), garlic and ginger. This dish is known for its tenderness.
The tender beef is chopped into bite-sized pieces and is stir fried with roughly chopped onions and garlic. To give it a kick, chilli pepper is added. Sprigs of rosemary are also added to lend it a subtle aroma. Finally, it is garnished with diced tomato.
Vegetarian dishes have been common and popular in Ethiopian cuisine for generations. The health benefits of vegetables and legumes are now also widely known internationally. Some of the vegetables we use are also supplied from our own garden and only picked when ready to be cooked.
This is a dish which requires a delicate cooking process and consists of split red lentils flavoured with cumin, garlic, ginger and other spices.
In Amharic, Alicha means mild. It is not as hot or spicy as Miser. It is cooked in vegetable oil, turmeric powder, chilli pepper, onions, garlic and ginger.
This is a mixture of either roasted split chick peas or split white peas. It is prepared by grinding it with spices and red pepper. It is then cooked with fresh tomato and onions and vegetable oil. It is a particular favourite of our Vegetarian and Vegan guests.
This is usually a mixture of cabbage, French beans, carrots or other vegetables which are in season. After being thoroughly cleaned, they are sauteed together with a hint of turmeric powder, onion, garlic and chilli pepper.
Another favourite of our Vegetarian and Vegan guests. The ingredients are delicate so we prepare them gently to prevent them from losing their nutrients.
Injera is the loyal companion of every dish. Some call it bread. Others call it a pancake. Even one or two call it a towel! It is none of these. It has a slightly sour taste. In Ethiopia, it is prepared with Teff (which is the seed of a grass like plant indigenous to Ethiopia). We prepare it with a mixture of millet and rice. Traditionally, it is served as a large and round dish. However, we roll it and serve it cut into convenient pieces.
Ayib is a homemade Cottage Cheese. We also serve two types of salads.
Homemade honey wine made from unadulterated honey procured from a trusted source and hops (Gesho) from Ethiopia. However, due to issues regarding the supply of quality honey, Tej may not always be available.
Our coffee is the Ethiopian high quality Arabica variety. We import the raw beans and roast them ourselves.
Our fragrant spice tea is made from cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.
